Flavio Cunha

Involvement

Flavio Cunha has a master’s in science degree from the Graduate School of 福利导航s at the Getulio Vargas Foundation in Rio de Janeiro and a Ph.D. in 福利导航s from the University of Chicago. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of 福利导航s at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on labor economics. He did joint work with James Heckman and Salvador Navarro where they estimated that around 50% of the inequality in labor income is attributed to the human capital that individuals have accumulated by age 19 years. In follow up work with James Heckman, he showed that the increase in inequality in the U.S. economy is a product of an increase in inequality of human capital and an increase in the variance of shocks.
